Redefining Foot & Ankle Surgery Standards
Mr Anjum Rashid is a Consultant Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgeon specialising in Foot and Ankle Surgery. He is Clinical Lead for Foot and Ankle Surgery at South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and treats both NHS and private patients across the North East.
Following advanced fellowship training in London and Newcastle, he has developed extensive experience across the full spectrum of foot and ankle surgery. His specialist interests include minimally invasive bunion surgery, sports injuries, ankle arthroscopy, ligament and Achilles tendon reconstruction, foot and ankle arthritis, total ankle replacement, complex deformity correction and trauma reconstruction. Wherever possible, he aims to preserve joint function and restore mobility.
Mr Rashid is actively involved in surgical education, research and service development. He also has an established medico-legal practice, providing independent expert opinion for claimants and defendants in personal injury and clinical negligence cases involving the foot and ankle.

Video Consultations

Video appointments are particularly beneficial for patients with mobility difficulties, those who live some distance from the clinic, or international patients seeking specialist advice.

What You Will Need:
- A smartphone, tablet or computer with a camera and microphone
- A reliable internet connection
- Access to your email or text messages, where your consultation link will be sent
While many foot and ankle conditions can be assessed effectively by video consultation, a comprehensive physical examination cannot be performed remotely, and additional investigations such as X-rays, ultrasound, CT or MRI scans may be required before a diagnosis or treatment plan can be finalised. Where appropriate, Mr Rashid may recommend a face-to-face consultation to complete your assessment.

Surgery
For insured patients, surgical fees are usually covered by your private medical insurer, subject to the terms and conditions of your policy and any excess that may apply. We recommend confirming your level of cover with your insurer before proceeding with treatment.
For self-paying patients, a personalised quotation will be provided before surgery. This will include Mr Rashid’s surgical fee and, where applicable, information regarding hospital, anaesthetic and any other associated charges. Our team will be happy to discuss the costs with you in advance so that you have a clear understanding of the expected fees before treatment.
